The Karate Kid is a book that people need to read. Despite having a slightly corny storyline, I thoughouly enjoyed reading it. It ahs all the elements that make a good book. There is the hilarity of Mr. Miyagi, the love story of Ali and Daniel, and the conflict between Daniel and Johnny/5(15).

The Karate Kid: The Classic Illustrated Storybook (Pop Classics) Hardcover – May 7, by/5(79). The Karate Kid is pretty weak even for a movie novelization, but clearly this book is intended for a young audience.

Little is added to the story aside from the original ending which became the opening scene of Karate Kid II/5. Our book today is Karate Kid, written by Rosanne L. Kurstedt and illustrated by Mark Chambers, a delightful introduction to the vernacular and practice of karate.

A spiritual sequel to the entertaining Yoga Frog (which features the same illustrator and a different author), this entertaining mini-manual follows Goat, a literal karate kid, through his karate class/5.

Editorial Reviews. The initial film of the enormously successful Karate Kid series, although essentially the familiar tale of an underdog striving for victory, has an innate appeal often lacking in the genre -- an entirely believable rapport between its two stars.

The script centers on the travails of a teenage boy, played by Ralph Macchio, /5(10). I am a huge Karate Kid fan (it even got me training in Karate 10 years strong).

This short childrens book version of the first movie captures the essense of the story even though it leaves out the plots involving Ali and Miyagi's backstory/5(). Description of the book "The Karate Kid": Newly arrived in California from New Jersey, teenager Daniel Ralph Macchio almost immediately runs afoul of karate-trained high school bullies. He is rescued by Japanese janitor Miyagi Noriyuki "Pat" Morita, who agrees to teach Daniel how to harness karate for good instead of brutality.

A boy and his mother move to California for a new job. He struggles to fit in, as a group of karate students starts to bully him for dating a rich girl from their clique.

It's up to the Japanese landlord, Miyagi, to teach him karate/10(K). Robert "Bobby" Brown is the quaternary antagonist and an anti-hero of the original The Karate Kid. He is second strongest student in the Cobra Kai Dojo. Some even wonder if Bobby is stronger than Johnny. After 30 years, he is now a pastor.

Bobby joined the Cobra Kai dojo at some point where he befriended students Johnny, Dutch, Tommy and Jimmy, all of whom attended West Valley High School. Determined to stick up for himself, Daniel begins to teach himself karate, only to discover that the caretaker at his apartment seems to be a grand master in karate.

Agreeing to teach Daniel, Mr. Miyagi shows Daniel that there is more to karate than violence, and perhaps the best way to solve the problem he has with the bullies is in the All Valley Karate Championship.
